Sup blog-followers?! It's Jeff this time. We wanted to fill you all in on the happenings of the day.
Reed's MRI took place at 1:00pm today and he handled it like a champ. A very tired, very hungry champ. He had to be sedated for the test but they were able to avoid using an IV because they were not doing any sort of dye imaging for contrast. The goal of the MRI was to obtain images of his brain to look for anything that could be causing these seizure-like episodes. We should have results of the MRI tomorrow.
Originally, we were under the impression that if the EEG could not happen today as well, they would admit him for observation. That turned out to be the wrong impression. I spoke to Dr. Blanke's nurse directly today and learned the reason why "admitting" Reed was ever brought up. Turns out, in trying to schedule the test initially, the doctor's office was told that it could be a week or more before we could get in for testing. Dr. Blanke's response to that was, if it's going to be that long then I'll just admit him to force the tests to happen sooner. Result....MRI the next day.
The only remaining test is the EEG. This test will monitor his brain activity and shouldn't require any anesthesia. As of right now, this test is scheduled for Monday morning.
We've received some comfort today. The blood work all came back normal and the tech and anesthesiologist both felt like there didn't appear to be anything abnormal in the MRI (still need to here that from the radiologist and doctor). More than anything right now, we're just glad to have the test out of the way.
Anxious to move forward and get this boy growing.
So far, I like my dad's prescription the best....take him to 5 Guys!
Thanks for all the prayer and support. We have been truly blessed with a network of unbelievable family and friends.
