Cooper's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Cooper's 1st birthday on Saturday Oct 17, 2009. We were hoping to have both families over but my family went on a trip that weekend so they weren't able to make it. We celebrated our niece, Graci's birthday too.

I made Cooper cake, all organic no sugar! I thought she would love it because it actually tasted good. But she didn't like the mess it made! You can see in the pictures below she wasn't happy about all that cream cheese icing on her hands. She doesn't like to be messy!

Cooper also had her 1 year check up last week. The doctors appointment went really well. We always love seeing and talking to Dr. Blanke. I feel very blessed to have a doctor that I can trust. Her height was 27in long and weight 18lb 3 oz. Needless to say she is a small little girl!

A sad day at the Seymore house

Sunday afternoon the kids were outside playing. Madi was out there with them. Sometimes Madi would run off out of the yard but she would come right back! Jeff had left to go to Lowes and pick up his guitar from church. On his way home he called me to see if Madi was in the house or outside still playing in the backyard. I called and called for her but couldn't find her anywhere. Jeff was on the Lloyd Expressway which is about a quarter of a mile from our house and found Madi in the middle of the expressway. She was hit by a car. He went turned around to go get his dad so they could get her off the road but while he was turning a guy (who takes care of that stuff) was there. He stopped traffic and Jeff was able to go out to the middle of the expressway and say his goodbyes. I hate that Jeff had to see her like that but thankful that we knew what happened, because we would still be looking for her hoping she would come back home soon. When she was hit by the car she was hit so hard that her collar flew off. So there would have been no way for them to know who she belonged to.

Madi has been apart of our family for 8 years. We have many great memories, she loved to go camping, hiking and for car rides. She was so good with the kids. She was a protector of her family for sure!!!!! She will be missed!

It has been a really hard 24 hours for Jeff and I many many many tears have been shied. The boys are doing great! We explained to them what happened and told them we would never see Madi again. Avin cried for a little bit and Parker didn't really understand what we were saying. A lot of people tell there kids that they will see there animals in Heaven but Jeff and I both believe that isn't biblical and have decieded to not tell them that. Avin is just learning about what Heaven is and I was able to share with him a little today what happens when people die. He did ask what about Madi and I told him that animals are just animals and they can't accept Jesus into their hearts so when animals die they just die. But isn't that so neat that if you have Jesus in your heart you will never just die. We talk a lot about it, not sure how much he understood.

Half Marathon

I ran the half marathon Sunday, Oct 10. Bless my husband for all his hard work getting all 3 kids around and seeing me 4 different times through out the race. It was nice to see their smiling faces. The boys had a blast and I'm sure Cooper had fun too! Next year we will have to get someone to help us because Jeff and I plan on both running. Here is a link to my prego running blog if you want to know more about the race and my experience running a half marathon pregnant!
